The words – First you are given a little to see what you do with what you have in your hands came to mind this morning. We in South Africa were given another chance by having our lockdown extended to another two weeks to “flatten our curve”. We in Cape Town are now given another chance on level 4 to get it right and to adhere to the stipulations set out for this level.
Today is Workers Day and we in South Africa have moved to Level 4. The first thing I heard this morning was: “Everyone is running”. My house –mate’s partner just came in from a good run. I sensed the camaraderie in his voice and I quietly hoped people would adhere to the law regarding social distancing.
“It is in the waiting that our Patience is tested. It is in the waiting that our Faith is tested. I might not always have patience but the one thing other than love and hope that remains always – is Faith. God will see us through trials and afflictions to strengthen our Faith in Him. This too shall pass us over.”
It was yesterday that I wondered…am I missing out on the last days of Summer. It was just a fleeting thought. Soon it will be my Birthday and I recall of days gone by where we over Easter would pack up the car and go to resort in a small town in the Western Cape called Ceres.
I recall how we will stop at some villages allowing my mom to drop off clothes and hamper treats consisting of cookies, sweets and chocolates for the kids.
