The story of the Lamp…I woke and heard a sound. I heard the lamp moving and it was this very movement that woke me. Then I heard the noise. It came from one of the other apartments. I switched on the lamp and placed it securely on the bedside pedestal where it could shine brightly.I had the distinct feeling – this lamp “woke me up” for a purpose. The whole day I kept on hearing these words. “You do not place a lamp under the bed and hide it”.It felt this lamp was dis-spelling the dark. The dark that was within and the dark luring on the outside.I looked at the Lamp. It is not the most expensive one and it is one of those very light plastic ones that came with the room I came to live in. It fell recently and is a bit chipped and looking a bit hampered on the one side. But the main purpose, irrespective of its damaged-ness, is to provide Light. So many of us are broken or even just a bit chipped. We may not appear perfect to the outside world around us but our very purpose is to take that light that is within and dis-spell the dark that is around us.This little light of mine. I am going to let it shine. Let that be our declaration Today.#becoming #steppingoutinfaith
"We don't have to be perfect to use the gifts and talents God gave us. Sometimes we have to do it whilst broken or not ready to create healing and change within and around us."
