Who Am I Now?

Once again the question arose: Who are you now? For me, the answer is in "the in-between years". In the transforming journey to now. It is truly in the mess that you receive the new message. Your New Story. The Truth.

Last week someone sent me a picture of a very dynamic-looking woman. I recognized her instantly. It was her smile and the way she looked at the camera…that look that says ” I am ready to conquer the world” and she did. In her own way. The girl easily walked into the room and would calculate the exact time she will take to go and stand on one side to scan the room. Some said she was aloof when she did that but she knew it was her moment as an introvert, after greeting, smiling, and shaking hands with everyone, to Breathe. Till she is ready to step out again being who everyone knew her to be and wanted her to be.

She wore her armor, her mask with flair ensuring that she can control her world to ensure everyone was happy and she, the one who could pack a bag at a whim and go travel alone or leave the event with no one noticing, was feeling safe and protected always.

It was when the princess, sipping on her favorite red whilst looking at the city’s lights, life fell apart that she got the chance to ask herself those magic three words “Who Am I?

Fast forward to me now wearing an actual mask – here I am on a new journey. No longer the busy workaholic seeing twenty clients a day, constantly writing reports, and pleasing others. Instead, I now visit me daily and do what brings me joy as best as I can. Instead of writing down forecasts for my clients I now remain present in my own life and hopefully, before my work shift commences take the time to journal, blog, or work on the next book. Or just listen to the birds and enjoy my coffee. Remaining present in my life. At the moment.

Once again the question arose: Who are you now? For me, the answer is in “the in-between years”. In the transforming journey to now. It is truly in the mess that you receive the new message. Your New Story. TheTruth. It is truly in pain that your purpose shoots its little head out like a little flower bud that once thought she was the buried seed, left to die…maybe she did…To Grow.

Here is to new beginnings and yes it is time to Step Out in Faith.
